wound documentation legalities

Anyone know the legal aspect of a wound team volunteer? Yes, they cannot change dressings, apply topicals, but...besides doing much of the bedside assistance, would they be able to enter wound descriptions into our software wound program? :typing thanks in advance for your help!

Wound team volunteer? Never heard of it. Frankly, I would not be allowing an unlicensed person to be entering wound description into the chart. That is a nursing assessment and the nurse would need to go back over the chart to ensure that they did it right which is a waste of time. Frankly a "wound team volunteer" sounds like a waste since they can't do anything. As an RN, I would not want to be bogged down with this type of person when I am doing wound care rounds.
