Would you say the job market in IL is good for LPNs?

Published

Hey guys!

I’m originally from MN where finding a job is really not an issue. I moved to Houston because my husband was relocated for his job. I am finding it next to impossible to find any LPN jobs here. The job market seems to be very over saturated with nurses down here.

My husband has the opportunity to move back north to either Illinois or Minnesota in the Summer. I was just wondering how hard it is to find a 0.6-0.8 evening job while I’m in RN school during the day? In Minnesota I could probably find a job within a couple of weeks. Should I expect that in Illinois or should I expect big city mentality which means lots of competition???

Thanks for your help everyone!

I’ve lived in Cook, Dupage, and Will counties. I’ve always found it very easy to find work as an LPN. For example, yesterday morning I applied to 5 or 6 companies via Indeed, and had an interview that afternoon. While on my way to the interview I received a call to schedule another interview the following day. Most places hire on the spot, or at least within a couple days. I’ve worked in facilities, home health, hospice, and telehealth- and they have all hired very quickly. I’m also a recent Rasmussen RN grad, I saw you had a post with a question about their program. So if you still have questions about it, I’d be happy to help!

I'm thinking of going to Rasmussen in Illinois. can you please tell me about they're accredited or not. Thanks
