Working on student nurse resume

Published

I don't graduate until April 2015, but have decided to start looking for an RN position. How do I include my internship in my resume that I haven't started yet? I know what hospital it will be at and I know it will be 150 hours any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what department it will be in either.

It sounds like it's something you shouldn't address until you've begun. It follows similarly to the idea in nursing that you don't document it until you've done it.

In this case, at least until you've started the internship, it's probably better not to include it on a resume. A resume is a reflection of what you've accomplished. Beyond saying you're going to begin an internship, you have no other pertinent information to offer that will be of any use to a hiring manager. Not to mention you have not acquired any skills from having worked in the internship. It's like asking for an advance on a paycheck.
