Working/salary in Van Nuys

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone,

How is working in Van Nuys area? How much does RN with 2 years hospital experience (acute/critical care) get paid an hour? Is it safe to live in this region or is it preferred to live outside in nearby cities like Glendale? Is commuting hard as I've heard LA traffic can get hectic. Any advice is welcomed! Thanks!

Forgot to add, with Associate's degree in nursing.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

With two years of experience I imagine you'd be offered in the mid to high $30s per hour at Valley Presbyterian and nearby facilities.

The south section of Van Nuys that borders Sherman Oaks is fairly nice and clean. Also, the west part of Van Nuys that borders Reseda seems nice. However, the north section of Van Nuys that borders Panorama City and North Hills appears rundown and somewhat dirty. Also, the far east section of Van Nuys that borders North Hollywood and Sun Valley looks old and rundown.

Other nice places to live in the Valley include Granada Hills, Chatsworth, Lakeview Terrace, West Hills, Reseda, Mission Hills, Encino, Northridge, and Valley Village.

Thanks TheCommuter! Those are good information :)
