Hi. I am an experienced RN who is considering a job with Kaiser so that I can move into a new specialty (there have not been many part time opportunities at my current hospital). How is the workload in general for acute care RNs at Kaiser? Do you have nurse aids or techs? Do you have Charge Nurses with or without a patient assignment? Do you have other support such as admit nurses or float team? I am just nervous about making a change, as I do not know anyone personally who works at Kaiser. Thanks!

I am currently at Kaiser and I would say "Stay Away!". I was so excited to actually get a job and get in the big hospital name of the West Coast and I was so disappointed to see the lack of team work and work ethics and a bunch of other things. You have five patients, along with admissions and discharges up until 15mins before your shift ends. There are two nurses aides on the floor but they basically assist w ADLS. The RN has to do vital signs. There is an admit nurse who does the admissions after 12Noon and a Resource Nurse who relieves you for your whooping 30min break and she can help you if she feels like it. I am currently looking for a new position as we speak. Good luck to you.
