Working in the hospital considering going to school for nursing

Published

hi, i am looking to return to college for a second degree or advanced degree in the healthcare field. considering a career in nursing, but open to other fields. i just started on the job training to work as an anesthesia tech. at the hospital. it has been interesting so far. you are on your feet constantly. you deliver different equipment and drugs during operations. other than that stocking drugs, ensuring equipment is in place, changing tubes, and suction after the operation. then once rooms become closed, you ensure everything is set for the next day. there is a lot more to do, but it is a start.

i was hoping too have more contact that is patient oriented but i have my volunteer experience in ems. if i finally receive, my emt b cert. was thinking of taking an advanced emt class, acls class, and a pals class.

two questions: i am looking into nursing as the way to go for as possibly second bachelor's degree. however, want to take a few math and writing courses before i go that direction. will knowledge from anesthesia tech., acls, pals, doing lines, and tubes are useful knowledge to apply towards nursing?

second question indirectly related to nursing. any other jobs within the or that might help transitioning into a nursing career.

appreciate the advice or directing me into the right forum.

have a good one.
