Working in Home Health interested in going back to Hospital. Any advice?

Published

Hi,

I've been working in Home care with Pediatric patients for a little over a three months now but I would like to get back to the hospital. I plan to move in with my boyfriend in 6 months so I will have 6 more months of HHN experience. I am going to apply to hospitals now to ensure I have a job when I move up north with him. My other experience consists of work in Neuro Trauma(only 3 months though), a nursing home, an Emergency clinic in Ecuador and camp nursing for a summer. My end goal is to go to CRNA school so I want to obtain a position in the hospital which will allow me to further my experience. I'm just wondering if I will be marketable for a hospital. Thoughts or advice?

How long have you been a nurse altogether? I mean, you didn't

say how long you were at the nursing home. :) Sounds like you

have done a good bit of moving around from job to job in a short

time, and sometimes employers don't like that. The emergency

clinic in Ecuador sounds very cool though.

Anyway, it's hard to say. If you are moving to an area where

nurses are in higher demand, then you may have a good chance.

If you are moving to an area saturated with nurses, then you

are going to have a harder time because you have moved around

from job to job and you don't have much hospital experience.
