Work at the VA in DM, moving to AR

Hi,

I am an RN at the DesMoines VA. My husband has been offered a position with his company that would mean moving to the Fayetteville area. Anybody here work at the VA? I really don't want to give up my VA job. I haven't talked with human resources yet. It is SO hard to tell them you are thinking about leaving. I love my job. Would appreciate hearing from others. Thanks so much. CindyRenee

Start your transfer now. You can probably get a moving bonus!

Do you work for the VA? Wondering if they have many openings there. We really don't have a lot of turnover in DM. Thanks for responding. I am excited about the possibility of the move, but like I said, I am very happy where I am! This is such a wonderful opportunity for my hubby, I don't want to hinder him. CindyRenee

I'm not familiar with the AR VA but there is a nationwide shortage. Contact HR for info. Good luck!

I worked at the Fayetteville, NC VA Hospital about 20 years prior and would be happy to share what I know with you. The VA pay (at least at that time) was nearly 20% higher then Cape Fear, which is the neighboring hospital. I would be happy to go over the pluses and minues if you want to send me a private message.
