Anybody here who got the license and but doesn't have a work permit. what is the procedure for work permit. If a nurse don't find an employer can't get a work permit and so on. If you apply for the job is required work permit.
Anybody in the same situation in this forum? is very complicated!!!

Work permit requires a employer as the employer needs to provide a LMO
All information about the process and application forms plus application guide can be found here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/work.asp
You could always get sorted for PR for next July when the cap reopens. you will need to pass English or French exams
Moved to the International forum as per the red banner. Please post immigration and work permit questions here in the International forum
Hi,
thank u for the answer. So I should apply for PR in order to get the work permit. Even if my instruction at univ was in English and I passed successfully the registration exam, I need English test proficiency (IELTS is very difficult)? How long it takes to get PR? I saw on some forums that should wait up to 1-2 years. what u applied after getting the registration?
kind regards

PR is better than work permit. PR = permanent residency leading to citizenship once you meet residency requirements. PR means you can live and work in Canada with no restrictions. Work permit means you are temporary and limited to work only for one employer and if you loose your job unless you find another employer and apply for another work permit you have to leave. PR if applied for via FSW will vary on processing times depending on the country you have requested your paperwork to be sent to. If from the UK you request either London UK or Buffalo
Everyone has to pass English exam regardless if English is first language. This came into effect middle of last year so even people from the UK, Australia and the US have to sit the exam in the same way people from Philippines, Germany, Japan etc. I am not sure but think the same goes for French. You have to prove you are fluent in the language.
Thank you so much for emailing me back. So now is no way. I need to prepare the English test.Do u now even British nurses failed the IELTS, in deed is very difficult test.TOEFL is much easier. I attended the IELTS course and is difficult. but I never sit the exam for English test cos I couldn't imagine that I ever need it. I know the PR is the most important.
I'm so disappointed about the system regarding getting a job in Canada. Nobody helps the interational nurses to find the job, to get the PR.
In UK the board of nurses are more generous with international nurses, they provide the jobs, accommodation for the fist month, even they come to airport to pick u up. in which city are u now? how is the situation with psychiatric nurses there? For the general nurses there are more jobs, but in psychiatric field in Vancouver is a disaster with the jobs.
I have never heard the NMC help International nurses with board and jobs and I am sure I read on the NMC website that they do not assist with jobs . My province doesn't accept RMN only RN so you wouldn't have much luck here. I think there are only 4-5 provinces that accept Psychiatric nurses and they are on the west side of canada
