Hi I'm a new grad LPN and passed my boards friday. Is there a link or website that someone knows about that says in writing that in the state if Illinois an LPN can't work license pending? If so can you please send it to me. I already have the IDFPR.com website with a copy of the nurse practice act but from what I read we can work license pending for up to 3 months. thanks for the help.

IL enacted a new Nurse Practice Act in January, 2008 that no longer allows graduates of RN education programs to work in a license pending status. RN graduates must now pass boards and receive licenses before working.
I assume the same holds true for graduates of LPN programs, but I don't know that for certain.
I wonder if you are reading the old NPA, or whether there is a difference in licence pending status for RN and LPN grads.
Please contact the IDPR for clarification.
Congratulations!
