Hey just wondering are there any new grads or recently new grads who work in clinics? I have been on a step down ICU for 6 months and today a health clinic at a local college called me about a job. I seriously and not happy working nights but will stick it out if I must. What do you guys think?

I have worked in an urgent care clinic for about a year and a half. I also work on a general surgical floor. I love working in the clinic. It is very fast-paced but different than the fast pace of the hospital - it's not as stressful and crazy. It does get a little monotanous (sp?) - I get very tired of colds and uti's, but I love that I can meet 50 new people in one day. I can handle everything from a cold to chest pains in a single shift. I love working on lacerations and such. I was offered a position there full time when I graduated, but thought it was important to work at the hospital - in retrospect I wish would have accepted the position! The pay in clinics isn't as good, but the stress level is much lower, no working in the middle of the night, and no working on Christmas. It is a whole different skill set than the hospital - not inferior, just different.
Thank you.. This is the kind of feedback I need, I want to know everything good or bad :)

I'm a new LPN who just started working at a clinic & I love it. I already feel pretty comfortable but know I still have a lot to learn about how things are done & all the paperwork in addition to documentation. I will be working as a float working with all the various doctors plus weekends once I'm done with orientation but I'm looking forward to that too. Weekends will be like working urgent care.
