Hi all, I am brand new to All Nurses but have found it SO full of helpful information! I'm in the beginning stages of applying to nursing school for the fall of '13 and I'm really excited! I am currently a cosmetologist and while I love it, I have found that it doesn't provide the challenge I need. My Mom was a nurse when I was young (as well as my aunt, and my great-grandmother...I guess it's in my blood!) and has told me it is a hard job but good pay, and that is exactly what I'm looking for. Plus, I love love love helping people/making a positive difference in their day.

So, my question is...any words of wisdom from people who have been where I am, and been through school, and worked as a nurse.

I'm thinking I want to work night shifts...I'm such a night owl! So any words of wisdom there as well?
