Can anyone tell me how legitimate a license as a Women's Health Practitioner is? Is it difficult to find a job? What type of clinical rotations do you do in school? Are most hospital-based or are most based in primary care? Would it be more reasonable to pursue FNP? I still have some experience I'd like to get, but I'm looking at grad school options with regards to relocating my family. Are there any respectable WHNP distance programs? I live in Florida and there aren't any great programs here. Thanks in advance!

Frontier Nursing University offers a Women's Health Practitioner. I don't know anything about the program. I was just accepted into their midwifery program, and am slated to start class in January 2014.

I did rotations with a midwife in a Community Health Center (primarily OB, some GYN), an outpatient OB/GYN service at a major teaching hospital (primarily GYN, some OB), and a set of specialty GYN clinics at a different major teaching hospital. I loved it, and want to work in Women's Health, but I found jobs much harder to find. I'm also an ANP, but I find my women's health knowledge to be useful in the strangest cases.

I'm quite interested in women's health too. I like the caring nature, specialized knowledge set and bond that's created from it. I worry that FNP could be too broad an area and that Midwifery too stressful with random hours. I know there are fewer job opps with WHNP, but I'm leaning toward it.
