Wolford Colege Clinical site in LeHigh Acres...

Published

Hello,

I have been accepted to Wolford College January 2009 semester and I just have one question if anyone could answer. My wife and I own a home in Fort Myers(exit 136). I was told by administration at Wolford that there is a clinical site in Lehigh Acres which is about 8 miles away from where my home is. Can anyone tell me about this clinical site and what their experience is like? I like the idea of the convenience as far as location plus the clinical portion of the program requires 5 days a week for 16 months. With the way gas prices are going driving to naples for clinicals 5 days a week for 16 months adds up to ALOT of money in commuting. Google maps has Wolford College about 30 miles from my house(exit 136 to exit 111) and that's one way. So I am looking at 60 miles per day x 5 days for 16 months at $4-$5 dollars per gallon. The Lehigh Clinical site sounds more realistic but I'd like to get someone's opinion. Tahnk You very much:D.

Hey Hatrick123...

I would like to know as well. I interviewed last week for the Jan 09 as well, but I have not heard from them yet. Did you receive your letter already? The Lehigh sounds great to me as well.

The Lehigh Acres site is a part of the Naples rotation so you won't be there exclusively. The experiences there are kind of what you would expect from a small hospital, no big cases and not a lot of cases. Right now we rotate out there for 2-4 weeks at a time and I don't think everyone will go every semester. You will get great experience and cases at the other Naples sites and hopefully gas prices will stay low. Good Luck to you!:D
