William Paterson Transfer 2017

Published

Hi everyone.

I am a student currently enrolled in a community college and trying to transfer to WPU for generic nursing program.

I have most of the prerequisites done, with GPA of 4.0, except CHEM 1330 that only WPU offers.

I noticed that among the nursing prerequisites that I must take in WPU, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology requires CHEM 1330 as prerequisite of its own.

This probably means that I need to take CHEM 1330 before I take the Advanced Anatomy and Physiology class...

I'm trying to graduate ASAP and this would delay my graduation by another semester...

Is there anyone who transferred to WPU with Associate's degree who know whether if I can take Advanced Anatomy and Physiology with CHEM 1330, or whether WPU offers Advanced Anatomy and Physiology in summer?

Thanks

Hey guys I received the mail today.

Hope you guys get it soon as well!

I have a question for those of you coming from community colleges with associate degrees in science.

Are we going in as a Junior under the Articulation Agreements?

I was told by Dr. Kalb that I would, but when I checked My Progress, it seems like I will be going in as a Sophomore.

we will have to take the required classes first which can happen within one semester so well start the nursing program in january so technically second semester of sophmore year, i dont think it should stop you its only a semester..not sure about the articulation agreements but i know one of the prereq class cannot be taken in the summer so it will have to be taken in the fall

I did the same. I am one (ONE!) credit short of graduating from ECC but I'm listed as a sophomore, too. I think the thing is there are special pre-reqs for the nursing program. I believe we are allowed to contact our advisor early April. By weird cirumstance I found out I was accepted to the Nursing program but was not at all ready to start the nursing courses in the fall. Luckily, they start some nursing classes in the spring too, so I won't waste a year, but i'm currently trying to figure out if I can take courses in the summer, which I *need* to do.

So, all I can advise is to stay right on top of it to avoid surprises. I was pretty bummed out for a couple days before I could work with them to get a realistic plan set up (w/summer school every year, btw).

So I talked to the transfer advisor, and I was told that I just have to history and economy class, as well as the nursing prerequisites, then I can go right into the nursing program. Hopefully those will go well.

I'm assuming we all will take the same classes for the nursing prerequisites. I looked up ratemyprofessor for the advanced anatomy and physiology and the class looked maddd hard. But I guess that's only the beginning of the nursing program... Good luck to us!

Hey guys, sorry I am pretty late with this but I am also listed as Sophomore and there are other University Core requisites classes they want us to complete as well with the prereq before they grant us permission to take NUR corses on spring. Hopefully I can take all of those courses over the summer...

It seems like this is pretty common. I am in the same boat and will start summer classes soon and take 18 credit hours in the fall (yikes). But, then I'll (we'll) be in nursing courses in the Spring and pretty much from then, on.

Lol I thought my fall semester was bad enough with 16 credits but 18?!! Wow! It's alright though, we just gotta sacrifice this summer and fall and it'll be worth at the end :D
