I just got out of the HESI a2 like an hour ago. Unfortunately my Anatomy and Physiology score and Grammar were both a 72, and as many of you know the minimum score is a 75. I am so upset but there is nothing I can do about it but to take it one more time. The pressure is on and as I requested to take the test one more time I was wondering if any of you have maybe gone through this before and know if taking the HESI twice will affect my admission at UT Health Science Center Houston or Texas A&M? If you already attend UT Health Science Center Houston what were your scores? My other scores were:
-Reading Comprehension 92%
-Grammar 72%
-Vocabulary and General Knowledge 86%
-A&P 72%
-Math 84%
Critical Thinking 800
I know all of these can use a lot of improvement.

I recently went to an information session last week on December 9th 2014 and we had various people talk to us. One focused on the actual classes, the other on the program and financial aid, and the other on just the admissions process. She said you can take it up to two times and they will review your application, however after a second time she said they would not. So you have two tries and then they no longer look at the application is what she said. She also said they only focus on your academic performance that they do not look at recommendation letters or volunteer work. Good luck!! I was not able to finish my pre reqs for fall '15 so I will be applying until Spring of '16.
Thank you so much! This really helped! Hopefully I can get everything in for the fall 2015. Good luck to you!

I will also be applying for the spring 2016 start. I am extremely nervous about the HESI. I am also going to take the TEAS test as well. I want to apply to all of the bsn programs around Houston and a few of them all for different entrance exams. I am almost done with my prerequisites and only lack chemistry, visual art, philosophy, and American government. I have maintained a 4.0 working full time, with three kids, and school full time. I cannot not get in, I am 32 years old, it's time for me to grow up and do this :) I want to take the HESI as soon as possible. Do I have to schedule it ?
Congrats on your grades! & yes you have to register for the HESI, if you go to UT Houston's website under HESI they have a link to Elsevier's website where you make an account, under this link you may also find the code number for the school, then they'll email you with a link to schedule it at a testing center near you. Best of wishes to you 😊

Grammar: 94%
Vocab & General Knowledge: 86%

I understand how stressful and overwhelming applying to nursing programs can be, so I wish you the best of luck in your application process! Hope all goes well for you :)
