Will Samuel Merritt accept a 76% in TEAS?

I am looking for some support. I am 34 weeks pregnant and have been working towards finishing my prereqs and taking the TEAS for applying to Samuel Merritt's ABSN program. It has been extremely hard to take classes, maintain a good GPA, and taking care of myself. I have maintained an over 4.0 in all my prerequisites, but ended up getting a 76% on my TEAS score today. I studied the best I could but I ran out of time for the reading. Any idea if a 4.0 and 76% is good enough for Spring 2016 admission? I cried after the TEAS test because I was not expecting such a low score. I studied very hard, from different sources, took the practice tests. I was not able to finish the reading portion and had to guess on about 10 questions. I was stressed out for the rest of the test. But the deadline to apply is July 1st, so I have to apply because i am about 95% done with application.

Please let me know what their expectations are...if anyone has gotten in with a score like mine...

A 76 is not a low score on the Teas. You should have scored in the advanced category. You are missing the point of the Teas test. I have no idea if you will get in your program or not because it depends on the other scores.

The Teas is not the same as say an A&P test. Yes you get a percentage but more importantly look at the proficient, advanced, and exemplary categories. A score of advanced means you do not need remediation in reading, writing, math, and science before nursing school.

People completely miss the point of this test and why it is needed before nursing school. Also, each school weigh each section differently so I couldn't even tell you what that 76 means in terms of getting in your school. Your best bet is to talk to a nursing advisor at your school.

I don't know if the PP is familiar with California schools, but this statement is incorrect. The TEAS score has everything to do with the your chances at admission as most schools apply admission points based on the score. However, I'm sure the OP is already aware of this. In all the California schools that I have looked into the proficiency level is not even considered-it's all about the score. Some schools do only consider the score in specific areas, such as math and science. I went to the Samuel Merritt website and I found the average TEAS and GPA statistics for applicants who were accepted in prior years. OP-good luck with your application!! I know you must be frustrated with your TEAS score after working so hard to maintain that 4.0 GPA. Based on averages, it looks like you may have a pretty good shot at this school.
