Will LTC nurse go to jail?

The family contacted the police and on the news last night it said the son is going to bring criminal charges against the nursing home because of the poor care of his mother. The son said the nurses at the LTC lied and charted that they did dressing changes but he said no they didn't do them. Do you think any of the nurses involved in this situation are going to jail?

I really don't want to sound like I'm taking up for nursing homes which really do fail to care for their residents because I'm not BUT I have seen a few families who were looking for a good lawsuit from day one of darkening the doorstep of their chosen LTC facility. We have one at the moment who likes to tell the staff that she is a lawyer (recently discovered she is a paralegal), shows up at the home at 0630 goes to daddy's brief and hollers as loudly as she can if it's wet, stops by at least every two hours during the day (don't ask me when she actually works, I have no idea) to complain about this and that (his wheelchair is unsafe I just know it is, his room smells funny, are you sure his call light works-and by the way, did I mention that I'm a lawyer?) Recently, due to the fact that she cant pinpoint any abuse or neglect, she has started claiming that something is not right about having male aids taking care of her father in the room alone at night because she thinks ...blah...blah...blah...fill in the blanks-and by the way, I'm a lawyer. Please don't think I'm defending truly abusive or neglectful situations because I have seen this type of thing and think such nurses and aids should be sent on to do other things than care for the elderly and helpless. I just think that there are two sides to every story especially when family members and LTC are concerned.
