Will Hospitals pay for me to go to nursing school?

Published

I live in Oak Ridge, TN and want to go to nursing school but dont have the money. I have heard that hospitals will pay for you to go to school if you sign a contract to work for then after you graduate. Does anyone know if this is true and if it is where can I get info on the program?

Many will pay some, few will pay all of it.

I did some snooping for you. Methodist in Oak Ridge has an impressive Loan repayment program. It appears they also have some sort of assistance while you work, and attend school at the same time (as I did).

I must confess, I'm impressed by their offering. When I went through, 20 years ago, I only got $3K from Vanderbilt, which did not go far toward my loans. Of course, I got hired right away and knocked them out in no time.

If I were you, I'd look at working there as a tech or medical receptionist on weekends and see what they offer for asstistance. Otherwise, get loans and go for their loan repayment. Heck, $18K for 3 years on nights! Between that, working and sweat, you'll be fine. Be creative and take a few risks! It will pay off. :D

Thank you so much. Im trying to get a hold of someone about the programs they offer but nobody is answering my calls. I think I will just have to go down there and see.
