Why are some people so successful while other's are failing

Have you ever wondered how are these people so rich and successful, while other people are falling. What is different about these people who are at the top of their field. what makes them different from rest of the people. why can't everyone be happy, successful and rich. And why are some people barley surviving in this cold and harsh world. Thank you:)

People that are successful (or what society deems successful) have a good education, know the right people (connections), are at least mildly intelligent. That's pretty much it. You can have one or all of these, oh, and motivated. If you don't have connections and don't know the right people, as they say, then you have to be motivated, intelligent, hard working, a winning personality (or at least one that people will like, not an emotional basket case, full of drama). That's pretty much it. If you know the right people, you don't have to have any of these, though you have to at least be of average intelligence.

I've worked hard for everything I have, and I prefer it that way. I think I would feel badly if everything were given to me because I would know that I did not earn it.
