Why you love/hate ER

hi everyone! i am considering a move from ortho/trauma to er but am nervous about moving and being the "new guy" all over again. so, i wanted some opinions from those of you in the er. can you tell me what you love about being an er nurse, and also what you hate about it? thanks for your help!!!

I love seeing how people change with treatment. We take in folks with ALOC, hydrate them and watch them perk up. One of our docs commented that they could easily come in packages with labels that read: "Dehydrated old people.....just add water!"

I also love to watch D50 work with low blood sugar diabetics. My husband, the paramedic just LOVES to push that D50. It makes you go wow! when that unresponsive diabetic says "hey what happened?""
