Who has used NCSBN to study NCLEX RN?

Published

If anyone has used NCSBN to review for the NCLEX RN, how is it? Is it similar to Kaplan? LEt me know. thanks!

i did, although the site does provide you with a lot of study material, i wasnt too fond of the questions. if ure taking kaplan, stick with it, it is very similar to the nclex in setting and they give you a lot of great tools to try and get to the right answer even if you have no idea what the question is asking

good luck!

I am currently using the NCSBN website. The site is very good with content review and questions throughout the courses. It breaks down each section course with the content of nclex as safe effective care environment, health promotion and maintenance, etc. The site is helpful to me because I have just failed the nclex on Aug.6 for the first time and I find that the questions given are at the difficult level of the real nclex. Tha rationales are good also. They also give specific questions on delegation only, prioritization only, pharm only ( things nclex is big on), etc. I personally wish that I had used this as a study tool the first time around! Just remeber the ncsbn site is from the makers of the nclex-rn exam. It is at learningext.com and I recommend it! I also read the kaplan course book, mosby's priority, delegation, and assignment book along with the feuer home review for nclex-rn.

Good luck

I bought the 3 week review on this site after the in-class review and online Q-bank and question trainer Kaplan offers. They actually teach it better on this site. But Kaplan gives more difficult questions I thought. Best part is, you can retake each party's question bank multiple times until it sinks in. And both offer valid rationales behind why they ask. I found that NCSBN breaks their material down into easier to undestand material and I took comfort in knowing that they write the exam. But since I had already bought and paid for Kaplan too, I continued to use it. It became my full time job and I passed on my first attempt a few weeks ago w/ 76 questions.

P.S. I've heard wonderful things about Suzanne's plan here as well. Saunders was a bit technical and wordy for me.

Good luck to you!!
