I just wondered how many of us are starting out in LPN school then moving on to RN school? The only reason i'm doing it this way is because my husband is in the army and i only know where i'm going to be living at for a year at a time. I got accepted really fast into an LPN program back home in ohio (i'm in tx right now) and since my Dh is getting ready to deploy to Iraq for a year it works perfectly for me as i can live with my mom for free and just go to school full time while dh is away. It seemed like everywhere there is a huge waiting list for starting the RN program but no so long of a list if you are already an LPN...anyone else in the same boat?? =)

I too am going that route. Took my Nclex on Aug 1st and am still waiting for the results. Then, I'll keep going until I reach my goal. I had to take the long route because I'm the sole provider for my family (3kids and 1husband). LVN school allowed my to keep my fulltime graveyard shift and still go to school. Wasnt easy, but wasnt impossible either. Good Luck To You

Just remember to take it one step at a time and eventually everything will fall into place.

At my school you have to get your LPN before you can be admitted to the RN program (Odd, I know!) So I will be getting my LPN, but I may move before I get my RN and then just go for my LPN to RN in another state, at least that way I can get into the program pretty quick!

We have the option at the end of the first half of RN school to sit for the LPN boards, so I will probably do that as I work towards my goal of becoming an RN. I don't plan on leaving my current job, but it will give me extra options if I want to pursue them because you never know what will happen between now and then. :D
