I have taken and passed both the CRNI and VA-BC. For the CRNI I first bought the Infusion Therapy textbook and a virtual study guide DVD thing. I would just listen to the DVD to and from work everyday was about the total of my studying.
The CRNI was orders of magnitude more difficult than the VA-BC, but that's not saying much. The only sections I really had to study were the chemo meds and nutrition with nutrition being the most difficult section for me.
I do not think a prep class is honestly needed, it isn't that difficult. Buy the INS Standards and get to know them and buy the practice questions.
Go to https://www.ins1.org/ and buy the CRNI study guide and the Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice, I do not think you honestly need anything else.
