Who recommends "Get ready for A&P" by Lori K. Garret?

I will be starting my LVN program in August and would like to prepare by doing some summer 'reading'. I heard this book is a good start...."Get ready for A&P" by Lori K Garret.

Can you all recommend it before I purchase it? thanks!

To be honest, I wouldn't even bother getting a book or studying before classes even start. Just enjoy your time off now while you can, because once you start, you'll be reading all the time. As long as you follow along in class, read the chapters and study the power points you should be ok. If your having trouble understanding the "medical jargon" in your book, I suggest the "Incredibly Easy" A&P serious. It makes it so much easier to understand. Thats what I did. A&P is over for me this friday, so far I have a 91%. You should be fine.:up::up:

IMO the best preparation you can do for a&p is planning ahead to have time to study for it once the course has started. This means if you have kids, job, other classes, other responsibilities, or all of the above you should find about 2 hours someplace in your day most days of the week for a&p reading, review, homework, etc. A&P isn't hard it's just a lot of material to learn and regurgitate. But if you keep up with the syllabus you really should be fine. The course only gets hard if you fall behind and don't have time to properly prepare for tests, etc.

that book came in a package deal at the book store with the lecture and lab book all together; I read the whole thing before class started (i am just a nerd though who loves reading) and I think it helped me with a and p I . The only thing that helped with a and p II is a lot of time studying and learning the concept of how everything worked not just the parts.
