Who is applying to UAH and/or Calhoun Community Collge Nursing schools Spring 2014

U.S.A. Alabama

I was wondering who is applying to UAH, Calhoun Community College, or both in the Huntsville/Decatur, Alabama area. I have applied to both schools myself and I am starting to get anxious. I am hoping we can all come together to support and encourage each other and maybe even offer some advice. Don't be afraid to discuss concerns and ask questions, because most likely there is someone who feels the same and at the same time, there might be someone on here who can help. Good luck everyone!

130.7 points @at256. im going to call tomorrow and find out what the cutoff points was. if im super close to have making it in the online portion, i will go ahead and accept my spot so if a oline seats comes available, ill be next in line. if not ill decline my spot and let someone who needs the spot take it.

Everyone that applied to the Calhoun program, run to your mailboxes because letters have been sent out!!!! I got mine today and I was accepted!! Good Luck everyone :)

which one will you choose? im excited to know!?!

Please post what the cutoff point was for the online mobility if you find out! I was also accepted to the traditional day program but was extremely needing to get into the online one due to the fact that I live in Birmingham! :-/ Thanks so much!!

it was 148. my coworker also applied and only had 147 points. she was a point shy. she said she only applied for the online mobility and so im guessing why thats why she got the cutoff information. whats crazy is that thats the only thing i applied for too and they offered me a spot in the traditional day mobility and not her and she had more points than me.

My wife applied to both Calhoun and Snead's online. She got her letter from Calhoun yesterday and was accepted with 166 points.

Btw, for those that haven't got their letters yet, don't worry if you see a letter in the mailbox and not a packet. Her acceptance was just a two page letter. Maybe the packet is for the full ADN program, not the mobility.

I got my letter yesterday and was accepted into the Calhoun online mobility program. The acceptance form is due back by 11/8. I applied to both Calhoun and Snead. Does anyone know when Snead will be sending out their letters?

If anyone who will be participating in the Calhoun mobility program would like to PM me, I'd appreciate it. I will be doing the online mobility. It would be great knowing someone else in the program.

Got my letter for the traditional day program! I'm in!! :D

I got an acceptance letter also from Calhoun's ADN program!!! It actually came in a letter and was two pages. The Fall start people at Calhoun received an acceptance packet (I have friends that started Calhoun nursing school in Fall), so maybe they are changing this aspect of the process.

Cyndle,

I am so happy for you and everyone else who made it in!!!! Hold your head up high...you're going to nursing school!!

Kissesnhugs, thanks for the heads up! :)

Yes! I almost cried, staring at the mailbox, because I knew of friends receiving packets and I had a lone little envelope. I was so relieved once I read it!!

Congrats! CyndleT. Speaking as a LPN that just finished bevill so our course work is the same from first to second semester get ready! 1st semester is a whole new way of thinking! A whole new world! And that summer second semester taking PEDS/OB and Medsurg! Omg! If you haven't discovered Jesus yet, your about to become his best friend! But it's all worth it. Especially seeing your name on ALABAMA BOARD OF NURSING and securing a job!

Hi jporterlpn,

I was torn to be honest. Thinking about the cost was driving me toward Calhoun. My ultimate goal is to be a women's health or family nurse practitioner. So I think Uah is going to be my choice. Although I hear Calhoun program is better! Then the fact both programs take two years. So Uah here I come lol. I have a friend that got accepted into the Calhoun spring program and were still going to link up study and compare notes when we can. I see that you took some RN classes already. Any advice for us nervous newbies!? Lol...... I hear even though you had a high gpa going in and may be a confident student, that nursing school is a whole different beast from anything else.

I hope we all keep this forum going!!!! Let's keep each other updated, motivated, and help each other with any info/advice we can! Im so glad we all got in our chosen programs!!!! May we all pass our test/HESI exams and walk across that stage come dec.2015 !!!!!! Soooo excited!!! Good luck everyone!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)
