While you were waiting for NCLEX-PN exam/license and rant

Published

So I may have to start the LPN program 6 months later than I wanted to which would therefore, push back graduating 6 months. Only good thing I guess gives me more time to save up for car etc. So I heard that sometimes while your waiting to take your NCLEX-PN or at least waiting for license can you still apply for a LPN position and get hired as a medical assistant for the time being and then work for them as a LPN when your license comes? Someone told me thats what happened to them before. Im just not sure how that all works. I assume you apply for the LPN position? I guess the good thing is I graduated from a Medical Assistant (A.A.S.) program in Dec 2010. Also I have to say that Im sick of people saying go for RN! I just called up the maternity department of the hospital I work at (I was a nursing assistant at the hospital for a short while and now am an unit clerk) to see if they had a needs list so I could pick up a day as a nursing assistant to get more hands on experience and hours. She said they had nothing right now. I really dont wan to be an aide on a regular floor. I told her wanted more experience becasue going for LPN and she said why not go for RN blah blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
