as the title states, which Toronto & area hospitals don't hire Registered Practical Nurses?

Trying to figure out which hospitals to leave out of my RPN job search.

Thanks!

FYI: I heard Credit Valley was hiring a lot RPNs.

Never mind... totally forgot OP question. Sorry.

Hi everyone...

Was just wondering how one would be able to find out if these Toronto hospitals were hiring, and getting past the Secretarial blockade? Making cold calls and such is just so-so..

Any input or suggestions welcome!

Sadly, it's cold calling or going by what positions are open according to their websites... or you know someone from the inside who can help you land a job.

These hospitals are big. They don't have time to look at each application, and that's the sad truth. =( Trust me, I'm trying my damn hardest to get in. I have my eye on a particular one.

Thanks 27400, that is basically what I thought. They never taught how to market yourself in school, unfortunately lol...joy oh bliss..

Specializes in Pediatrics (neuro).

In response to a few questions, I've never seen an RPN posting for SickKids or heard of an RPN working there. In saying that, there are hospitals like Southlake (in Newmarket) or Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital that definitely do hire RPNs on their wards.

Agreed. I know someone who works at SickKids and I'm pretty sure Sickkids does not hire RPNs. When I had my placement at Bloorview last year, the RPN told me that she wanted to do the bridging program so she could work at SickKids.

I work at sick kids and I know for sure they do not hire rpn's. Sick kids deals with the toughest cases and patients tend to be very unstable so only RNs at sick kids.

Most downtown hospitals do not hire RPN simply because most causes are acute complex care.
