Hello,
Currently I have three nursing schools I am thinking about going to. My goal is to get my BSN.
1. I just got accepted into a LVN program this Fall. If I add on the LVN to associate RN program my expected graduation date is Fall 2018. I do not know how competitive it is to get into a LVN - RN program and I am worried that more experienced LVNs will get all of the slots. I also just got a new good job, and I will feel really bad for completely changing my availability to weekends only.
2. At another college there is an associate RN program where my expected graduation date will be Spring 2018. If I do not get into this program I will have to continue on to option 3.
3. This is a straight to BSN program where my expected graduation date is Summer 2019. This school had bad pass rates a couple of years ago and they had to close the program. They reopened the program now, but whose is to say that it will not shut down again. This school does not have a lot of competition to get in and I am pretty certain that I will get in. It is also expensive so I will have to arrange a payment plan.
I can afford the first two schools by using loans and grants. Also if I take the first two options I have a chance of getting a job that will pay for the rest of my schooling. I am wondering if hospitals are still hiring LVNs, since I heard some places are phasing them out. I have not checked much, but when I look on job boards it seems like only home health agencies are hiring LVNs.
Option 2 seems like a good idea but it is like "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" type of thing. I do have a high GPA and I scored advanced on my TEAS V, so there is a chance I will get in.
Thank you for reading this.

Did you get accepted into one RN program yet?
Also, if you dont mind me asking, which BSN program is this? Which school is this?
I think many hospitals would hire BSN degree holders and more especially with people who have some experience in the field :/ so I think option 2 is the best...? It's just my opinion.
I havent heard of LVNs working at a hospital now too.
The BSN school is Wayland Baptist University San Antonio Campus. Right now I am leaning towards that one.
