Wait is there any difference between LVN and LPN? Have heard of LPN, but I thought it is another term for LVN.

SquishyRN, I also think new grad LVNs here in SD make about $20 per hour as entry salary. And thanks for your suggestion also. I was just hesitating to accept the RN route because there is one program at CSUSM called LVN-to-BSN where the state can provide grants, not like the routes ive mentioned in my previous comment. (I dont think there is a LVN-to-MSN route. I havent heard about such). :/ Mmmm. But yah. I dont want to wait any longer before everything is too late. Plus, I have no idea if LVN-to-BSN route is also as competitive as the traditional one ...and how many students they can accept per year for this particular route.

Which Program should I choose?
Did you get accepted into one RN program yet? Also, if you dont mind me asking, which BSN program is this? Which school is this? I think many hospitals would hire BSN degree holders and more especially with people who have some experience in the field :/ so I think option 2 is the best...? It's just my opinion. I havent heard of LVNs working at a hospital now too.

From what ive heard at the facility where i currently work at, 20 is the entry-level salary. I also have heard of 18 (but in a different county). I would really want to know though how much new grad LVNs make. I am a CNA. I got accepted into three RN programs here in SoCal, but I was also thinking about doing LVN first because many RN-to-BSN and RN-to-MSN programs are self-support based tuition fees, not state-support. Any pieces of advice or suggestions?
