I would just like to say how awesome it was to stumble upon this site! But..I am in a little predicament.
I have always wanted to do something in the medical field (co-oped at the hospital for 6 months in grade 12), but was push to do something else. After many years in school, I don't have the heart to finish in the field which I am in. I was at Langara for 2 years in the University Transfer program. Then I went to SFU and was in the English program. My grades were not that great and I decided to switch to a smaller school. I went to Douglas (MUCH closer to my place) and took some electives. I loved it there. I had to take a year off and head back home because of a family emergency and I had to be there. For 9 months now, I've been immersed in the hospital atmosphere. I realized that that was what I wanted to do.
I looked around and I'm confused as to what to do. Technically I'm still a student at Langara and Douglas and I have some of the requirements for each school. I mainly want Douglas because there is no wait listing but when I called in today, the academic advisor informed me that they are not accepting any more applications into the Nursing Program! I'm stumped!
1) I wouldn't mind going to Langara, but it states that I need to finish all of the courses at that school.
...So then what do I do with Douglas? They aren't accepting applications anymore.
...Langara?
I am so confused!
The reason why I am not looking into Kwatlan or BCIT is because I've had history with Langara and Douglas. Makes it easier so that I don't loose credit if I had to go to a different school.
Ah I would love to apply to both but I need pre requisites for both schools. I only have partial from both. Langara states that I need to finish my pre req before applying and for Douglas, it seems like a free for all once they do open for accepting applications.
