Which OCNE school to attend

My name is Mackenzie. I recently got accepted to both Portland Community College and Clackamas Community College's nursing programs starting in Fall 13. I thought I would do some research before choosing which one would be the best fit for me. I was hoping to get some input from others that are currently in or have graduated from either one of these programs. For those for which this applies, what did you like/dislike about either one of these schools? Would you recommend one over the other? I am just looking for some advice from those who have personally experienced one of these programs so I can make the best decision possible. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on the acceptances! I was in the position to choose between Clackamas and PCC.

I ended up choosing Clackamas due to their fantastic options for clinical (specifically OHSU), the good feelings I got from the instructors and the fantastic facility. I'm just about done with my first year, and it what I hoped it would be. I can't speak directly between the comparisons between the two programs, but I know I've been happy with my choice, and would make it again. I would be happy to answer specific questions.

Hello nwnursing! I know it's a bit late to be joining in on this conversation but, I was hoping you could give me an idea of the typical CCC schedule. Is it a M-F gig, all day? Or is there a day off? Would working one day a week be possible, or is it not a good idea? I know everyones thoughts are different when it comes to working during nursing school, just would like your input. Where have you been placed for your clinicals so far? Thank you so much for your time. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have heard so many great things about CCC. Trying to decide between CCC and PCC. Thanks, again!
