Which Nursing School - Orlando Area?

Published

Hi all,

I would really like some feedback regarding the below Nursing Programs at the below schools.  I keep reading the same reviews about these schools but no real feedback on their Nursing program and if they were good or not.  Can someone please help?  I'm finishing up Chemistry now and hoping to start Nursing in Jan 22'.  These are the schools I am considering in the Orlando area.  Thank you, much appreciated.

Hi there ?

I'm a nursing student currently attending Seminole State College, so you could say that I have a bias. Putting aside Seminole State, I would try to avoid the other colleges you have listed. I haven't heard about their clinical partnerships with the major hospitals in the area, which makes me a little concerned about their accreditation, etc. The colleges that I can confidently recommend in the Central Florida area are: Valencia Community College, Adventist College & Seminole State College. Beware that all of these colleges require minimum GPA's and TEAS scores, and that you must apply for their nursing program and be accepted. But these colleges are well known in the area, and if you get accepted into any of these nursing programs, you don't have to worry about being able to gain employment afterwards. I can't really say the same for Herzing & Rasmussen...

Either way, I wish you all the best of luck : )

Hello,

I did the SSC and UCF concurrent program for my BSN.  I graduated with my ASN in April of 2019 and my BSN in May of 2020 (I took a little longer because of the cost).  The SSC program is a very hard program but they had a 100% NCLEX pass rate when I attended.  I took the NCLEX in October of 2019 after rescheduling because of work twice.  I had to take it in October or I would have had to apply and pay all over again.  I was only able to study for like a week and I passed my first try.  I attribute that to SSC being an excellent program.   I work for Advent Health now and multiple people that I started my residency with went to Rasmussen.  Just make sure it is accredited and find out where you will do your clinicals and practicum. I feel like SSC was harder than it needed to be because they wanted to keep that 100% pass rate.   Many students are offered jobs while still in school.  Good Luck To You.  Nursing school was the best decision I ever made.
