I've been offered a ft night position in the area of adult disabilities (trachs, ventilators, etc) and they will provide the course and training. In beautiful victoria, bc...would be temporarily moving wo hubby, just me and 2 yr old. Same shifts each week, sat, sun, mon 3-11 and tues, wed 11-7pm. Pay rate 34 can per hr plus benefits after probation.
OR
Flexible shifts community agency doing varied jobs (dental, community, wound care, trach care, flu clinics), all supported and trained bf doing the assignment if needed. Can work up to 40 hrs per week if want or pick and choose. Wouldn't need to move and leave support network family. Pay lower 30 can per hr, benefits offered.
I am undecided. No offer on 2nd job yet, just did interview. Offer on first job. Would be moving from ontario to bc, alone at first to make sure job good fit first. Have some friends in victoria but no family.
what should I do?!!!!

Are you interested in acute care? It can be hard to transition back into a hospital if you go into community health, at least where I live in the U.S. The second job sounds pretty amazing though if you are interested in community health. One thing that would give me pause about the first job is the varied shifts...it can be difficult working afternoons and nights because it messes with your sleep cycle. Some people cope with that better than others. Also the flexible shifts might work better with a kid if you go with the second job? Unrelated, but I super envy your opportunity to move to Victoria, it is such a beautiful city!

Rotating shifts are the norm in Canada. Usually day/evening or day/night.
