Which is the correct answer?

Hi guys!

I'm studying for my exit exam, does anyone know the correct answer to this question? I keep seeing different answers online, and if possible provide me a rationale:

A community health nurse is developing a brochure about hypertension. Which of the following actions should the nurse take?
A. Explain medical terminology using basic, one-syllable words.
B. Present information from complex to simple.
C. Write the information at an 8th-grade reading level.
D. Use a 12-point font size.

Thank you!

This is a hard question. All of the answers could possibly be right when you look at the question but I think they want you to pick the "best possibly" "the most reasonable answer". Thinking back to school I remember that you are to explain things to patients as simple as possible for better understanding so I would say A. I hate questions like this....smh.

A is best answer for patients need simple explanations to more easily understand info. Looking for greatest impact on healthcare literacy.

Why wrong:

B  - info should be  presented simple to complex --build on prior knowledge

C -  best reading level to reach across wide audience is not greater than 6th grade.

D -  12 point font is appropriate, 14 font best for older adults.  But not the most impact on hypertension education.

Hope this info helps you to choose answers for NCLEX.  Best wishes with the exam.
