Which colleges are best in midwest?

Published

I am a high school senior in Moorhead. I have a 3.90 cumulative GPA and a 27 ACT score. I want to go into nursing I believe. I am looking at getting my BSN at a public four year university. These are some I'm looking at:

-North Dakota State University

-University of North Dakota

-University of Minnesota

-University of Wisconsin Eau Claire

-University of Wisconsin Madison

I am being really picky with my college choices and of these ones above none of them are really sticking out to me. There is something about each one I don't like. My top choice is University of Minnesota, but I am worried that I won't get into the nursing program there because of its difficulty.

Someone has also told me to go to a 2year college and get my LPN degree, work for a few years and go back and get my BSN because my employer will pay 60% of tuition. Is that correct? or does it depend where I work.

I want to go to a four year university because I think otherwise I won't get the college life experience like living in the dorm and sporting events etc. The two year college would be more financially smart though.

Any advice for me? I want a good school but not impossible to get into.

University of South Dakota has a 2 year program.

South Dakota State University has a 4 year program.

Take a look at those.

And if you are worried about the "college experience" you are picking a college for the wrong reason. College is about the education, not the parties.

How would a 2 year degree give you a different experience then a 4 year degree? You can live in the dorm in a two year program.
