Which CNS certification?

Published

Which certifying body did you choose for your CNS certification? ANCC and their ACNS-BC, AGCNS-BC, etc or AACN with their CCNS or the new ACCNS(-AG,P,N)? Are there any other organizations that currently certify CNS's? What was your reason for choosing the certifying body? I understand that some of this will be dictated by your school's program, but I thought some of this difference in preperation was going away as programs adapt the consensus model. Thoughts?

Thanks Shgr for responding to my question.

I looked up the book online and found the following: Chronic illness: Impact & interventions, 7th Ed. by Pamala D. Lorificen. Is this thesame book you are referring to? Just want to make sure before l purchase the book. Also, you mentioned that you referenced the book list in the exam blueprint for your reading, that seems like an arduous task but apparently was helpful as you were successful in the exam.

Thanks again for your comments and l appreciate your time.

Yes, that is the book. The authors are Lubkin and Lorificen. I used the eighth edition. It's an excellent resource.
