Which agency do you highly recommend for Travel Nursing and gives the best contract?

The only agency I am familiar with is American Mobile. I would like get some recommendations with good pays. I am a Canadian RN with only General Medicine area experience and hope to move to Southeast Florida. As soon as I have a job down there I will immediately be purchasing a house so I don't necessarily need housing.

:nurse: Thanks.

Specializes in Paramedic,ER, House Supervisor, OR, CVOR.

If you are moving to South Florida, you might as well contact the hospitals where you would like to move to and find out if they are hiring. The fact you are buying a house tells me that you will not be a travel nurse and won't qualify for the "Tax Advantage" stuff the Travel companies will try to convince you to use. I am currently in South Florida and have worked here during the winter for the past 5 years. Send me a PM and I can discuss the options further if you like.

Thanks Rod. Unfortunately I cannot pm you because I haven't gotten 15 posts as yet. I have been searching for the best travel agencies through other forums and personal reviews. You are right though; I may not be a "travel nurse". They do have job fairs here in Toronto with U.S. recruits and some go through the immigration process with you, assign a placement and moving expenses if the hospital decides to hire you. I am not aware of the "Tax Advantage" that you are speaking of but I guess it is similar to the evaluation comparison of travel nursing agencies on the site Highway Hyperdermics. I called a lot of agencies and found out, most will not go through the immigration and TN Visa process with you which is what I was hoping for.

No problem, don't mind sharing my thoughts in an open forum, just don't want to force someone else.

I have no help with the immigration or visa processes. I know several Canadian Nurses but haven't asked them about the process of getting into the US. I may (sometime a long time from now) think about going out of the US but maybe by that time I will have enough money saved to not work on vacation.

Good luck.

Rod
