Whew! Just took the NET yesterday...

I just took the NET yesterday morning (I'm a couple miles north of Milwaukee, WI). I thought my nerves were going to get the best of me, but once it all started, I calmed down. For the week leading up to it, I ate nothing but protein and vegetables, and I worked out every morning. I got up yesterday morning and only walked a half mile and just did some deep breathing. I felt much better going into everything.

To prepare for the test, I did the two practice ones in the back of the NET book a couple times as well as the one from testprepreview a couple times. I also practiced some reading comprehension from some other nursing exam books. It's definitely a skill that can be improved.

We did the math section, then a reading speed test, then reading comprehension, the written expression section, science, then a couple sections about how you take tests and handle stress. I was out of there within two hours.

I won't go into what's on the test, because I'd probably get in trouble, but I didn't think it was as difficult as the practice tests were. I was getting around 75-85 on the practice tests for reading and 95-100 for math. I have to believe I got less than that given my nerves and lack of sleep on test day. It was a paper test, so we don't get our scores for two weeks or so (ugh).

For those of you who have to take it, you'll feel much better if you go into it prepared. I enjoy taking tests, and I thought this was a good one. Best of luck to everyone else! Now the waiting game begins...

I took mine a week or so ago and found the reading part to be really difficult. On the practice tests in the net study guide I did really well but the day of the test - I don't know - maybe my mind just froze and I wasn't getting it. I was really nervous before the test so maybe that had something to do with it. On math I got 97 so that saved me on my overall score. An intro algebra class I'd taken prior is the reason I scored high on math. I would definitely prepare for it and not underestimate the reading part - although it could have just been my mind freeze that made it seem so hard.
