Where are the nursing apprenticeships in Georgia?

Published

where are all the nursing apprenticeships in georgia. well i'll tell you that there aren't any! i am quite confused about the state of georgia not having apprenticeship programs specifically for nursing. i went to http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/training/apprenticeship.htm and http://www.careervoyages.gov/apprenticeship-main.cfm to take a look at what they had for people interested in getting certified as a cna, pct, and/or licensed to work as an lpn. i was shocked since there is supposed to be this huge nursing shortage. they actually had an article in the ajc about the nursing shortage towards the end of last year, and yet you have to pay for any training that you need in a highly demanded career field. i'm sorry to be rambling on. but if a person interested in becoming a mechanic or a plumber can get a paid apprenticeship, then so should someone interested in becoming a nurse! if the other states can offer this kind of training to potential nurses, then georgia should too. the georgia apprenticeship contact is listed below. please send a message or call them if this is something you might be interested in doing. they have the power to change things and setup apprenticeships for whatever they want. we need nursing apprenticeships in georgia, and fast too.
