Where to live in Cincinnati??

I am moving to the Cincinnati Area, where my husband will be attending medical school at UC. I am wondering where we should look for housing. I want proximity to the school, a safe area, and reasonably priced (The hyde park area, I've found is out of our price range). Feel free to PM me! Thanks in Advance!

I live in Cincinnati and have most of my life...maybe I can offer you some advice. Hmmm...you can find a decent apt. in Hyde Park area if you look really hard, its a great area to live in. Also Eden Park is nice and its close to the clifton area hospitals (where UC is)...also...the gaslight district in clifton is pretty decent. Unfortunetly most of the areas around the school arent that great...id say look harder in hyde park or try oakley its close to hyde park and most of it is pretty nice. here aer some websites

You wouldn't catch me downtown after dark for any amount of money unless I'm driving through straight to the parking garage to the hospital. And even then, I would be careful. Eden Park is really nice during the day, but after dark all the hookers go up to the park with their johns in the cars. ewww. At least it used to be that way a couple of years ago. I'ved lived in the Greater Cincinnati area most of my life and right now the crime rate in downtown is out of site. I won't work there, I won't do visits there. I'm too afraid. There are drive by shootings in broad daylight in Over-the-Rhine, stay away from that area. I think the UC hospital, Children's Hosital -- they are right there next to one another, are fairly safe, you can drive right into the garage for Children's and never go outside the faciility and they do have security in the garage. I don't know too much about UC, I haven't been in that facility for about 17 years and I know it's been updated since then.

As far as housing goes, I would venture further out into the suburbs if I were you. Anderson Township on the Eastside is a nice area and not too far from downtown once you get on 275. Also, West Chester is a great area and not crime ridden. Miamitown, off of I-74, inexpensive rent and great area.
