This is a rather difficult situation that I have put myself in. Being in a relationship with someone that really doesn't understand how the board of nursing works when someone loses their license is very frustrating. It's very hard to explain to them that you can not fight the board of nursing, you can not rush them into doing something simply because you need it done. The board of nursing does not care about your welfare or how you are going to pay for all the things you have to do so you can get your license back. But the relationship I have has been one struggle after another. I have basically been in a monitoring program pretty much the whole time we have been together, almost 7 years now. Well, my question is this..We moved from Florida to North Carolina, and now back to Florida. Two years ago, I was almost finished with my contract in North Carolina, 3 months to be exact. A drug screen came back positive, I had voluntarily surrender my license and I have been trying to get my license back , which of course cost money because of the drug screens. Well my partner, decides he wants to up and move back to Florida. So like a dumba$$, i followed him. well it's not been any easier getting my license back in Florida, and not to mention has been more expensive. Now I do have a Massage therapy license in NC which I did have a job there. But now in florida, i have no job, and probably am going to have to require more treatment recommended from the IPN. I know the answer is to just leave him and move back to NC. But this is the dilemma, I have no resources meaning money are a place to go back to live in NC. So.. anyone have any suggestions???

Leave the partner and quit doing the geographics. Like the Big Book says wherever you go there you are. Settle in one place pref N.C since you can do massage therapy there.. Stay in a shelter for a couple of weeks if you have to to get some money together. Then hunker down and finish your monitoring program. The average is 5 years and you are going on 7. You did not say if the positive drug screen was legit? If so stop doing drugs and get with the program! Go to meetings get a sponsor do the work. You will be happy you did.
