I am I new grad, and just passed the NCLEX. I was offered a job at a Plastic Surgeons office. Start at $17, and I will make $18 once I am IV and Pleb Cert. And have another raise after 6 months. I get benefits (turned them down, I have good ones through my husband) 401k, and vacation 2 weeks to start! Tues-Friday. No weekends, Holidays, or nights. Look at careerbuilder.com, and monster.com. Don't just relay on the newspaper. And go to dr. offices yourself and hand in your resume. Even if they are not hiring, when they do, they just might remember your face and give you a call for an interview. GOOD LUCK!

If you are willing to work in a prison, try submitting an application at the California Department of Corrections. They hire LVNs, pay them competitively, and offer excellent benefits. Also, don't forget about clinics, dialysis centers, home health, agencies, private duty, doctors' offices, group homes, and adult day care. Good luck with your job search!

Corrections definitely utilize LPNs (whether prisons or jails at city, county, state or federal level) some times it is contracted out to companies other times it is considered a goverment job, clinics: check out the veterns administration hospitals and clinics, I have seen schools hire LPNs as school nurses as well as your local health department (particularly in rural and inner city areas), assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, some more administrative jobs prefer to hire LPNs like schedulers at outpatient surgery centers and insurance related positions, etc. Just start looking you might be surprised.

Hello the commuter! I noticed that you did your LVN in California. Are you doing your RN now?
I completed an RN-associate degree program in Oklahoma City in March 2010 and received my RN license on May 12, 2010.
Wow!!! Congrats! What made you move to oklahoma? Can you get it endorsed in CA?
