I just got a job as a nursing assistant in a retirement community while I wait to finish my prereqs for nursing school. I need to buy some "seal blue" scrub pants, and some white shoes. Any recommendations on where to find the scrubs (either a store or online), and what sort of shoes to get? I'm sure comfort is key for the shoes, but I've heard that they make "nursing shoes" and was curious if these would be a good idea.
Thanks!

Hi I love Nursemates for shoes....I think they retail for about $55....As for scrub bottoms... http://www.Scrubs.com or http://www.landau.com/LandauCommerce/
Many nurses love Dansko shoes but they can be pricey....so thats up to you.

You can even try Wal-Mart for scrubs.................they have them and the prices are quite reasonable, especially if you are just starting out. Any white shoe that is comfortable for you and has a closed toe and heel will be just fine. Many prefer to wear gym shoes, see what is permitted you will be working. :)
