When to tell boss I'm pregnant??

I just started my very first OB nursing job on Dec 4th. And wouldn't you know it, I got pregnant a few weeks later. I'm wondering when the best time is to tell my boss. I have no idea how this is going to go over with everyone. I work nights, but will be going to days the 1st of February for 3 months to train in L&D. I was hoping to keep it a secret until I'm at least 8 weeks, does that seem unreasonable??

Any advice is appreciated.

Keep it secret as long as possible. Your boss will have a good 5 months at least to plan all that she needs to plan. I can't imagine that she needs or deserves more notice than that.

I think you should keep it secret because not everyone will necessarily be happy for you. Some will be thrilled, some will be bored, some will be jealous, some might actually wish you evil. Just keep it a secret as long as possible to avoid being so much of a spectacle and in the limelight. just my opinion. You, of course, should do what you think is right.
