When to take NCLEX?

I graduated in December and have just started a job as a GN. My question is when should I take NCLEX. I am enrolled in Kaplan and will finish that class Jan 18. I also need to have surgery that will keep me off work 3-4 weeks. SHould I take NCLEX before my surgery or should I use the 3-4 weeks I am off to my advantage and study. I am also worried about waiting a month after taking Kaplan to take NCLEX. Help!!!!

congrads by the way!! I graduated in May... I took my test right away... and my some my friends waited,,, and worried and studied, and worried,,, and then took their test,,, we answered the same amount of questions... and the bottom line is we all PASSED and are nurses now....

Take the test..period.. you can't study for it,,, you either know the material or you don't... take it while it is still fresh in your mind,,

you will be glad you did...

then enjoy life and be glad you didn't wait and worry....and STRESS
