When new-grads-to-be should begin applying! :)

Published

I am entering my LAST semester of Nursing school to obtain my RN, BSN. Yahoo! :coollook:

At this point, I'm curious and unsure of just WHEN I should begin applying for positions in the field. I graduate December and my projected NCLEX examination date is late January, early February. However, I should be applying long before that time, correct?

I'm not quite sure how to tailor my applications so that employers will look at me, know that I am soon to be a fresh, new graduate, and consider hiring me, under the conditions that I successfully complete and pass the NCLEX-RN examination.

Any informative input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

I started applying in January and I graduated in May. I got one interview for a new grad program in March, and another interview in early May. Honestly, I've sent out over 100 applications and no one has considered me because I don't have my RN yet. I would keep an eye out for new grad programs, but don't apply to regular RN jobs until you have your license. It's best to focus your energy on school for now! I wish I had believed that months ago and not bothered applying to so many jobs! Just make sure your resume is in tip-top shape for when it comes time to apply!

Thank you so much!!!
