Just graduated from the PN program at the end of March. They say to take it right away but I feel like I barely made it each quarter. Everything I learned was stored under "short term memory" so I wanted to review and was planning to take it at the end of May.
Ever since school got out, I've been so tired and haven't been getting up as early as I've wanted. I'm guessing it's my body's way of wanting to slow down but my mind just wants to get to it. Part of it is motivation and part of it is just my body, I guess. The day goes by so fast and by the time I hit the books, it's already 4 in the afternoon. I've been doing household chores, other business to take care of that actually accumulate and take more of my time. I'm taking a class once a week for EKG and been doing alright with it (currently with a "b"). I took the Kaplan review sessions last month and found it so helpful and re- motivated to do so well and to incorporate their strategies. :w00t: Also, a good friend of mine is getting married and I'm a bridesmaid. We don't do much work but it's my first time and I want to take in this great life experience as well. I don't have many female friends and i know it's rarity for this kind of thing to occur to me. I want to enjoy life too BUT NCLEX is so important. It's already almost mid may and I'm so scared. I haven't made an appointment yet and was thinking of moving it to early June but at the same time, the more I wait, the more I forget or lose motivation Should I just schedule it for the end of the month?)
MY friend who was in the RN program graduated mid June and took it at the end of August but she said the last few weeks were CRUCIAL. HELP please! And please excuse my scatter minded brain - my ideas are everywhere on this post. Thanks!! :thankya:

If you think you will not be able to take it immediately, your anxiety may create more barriers than anything else. Having taken two other national certification exams (for non-nursing certs), you never really feel ready, even when going in to take the test. With that said, I will admit that I took the certification exam a full two years after my last college course in the material tested by the exam. I passed!
Don't wait forever to take it, but if you truly in your heart feel you will fail if you take it right away, then give yourself some study time and take it. Good luck when you do take it!
