What's the situation in Hartford?

I'm considering applying in Hartford potentially, depending on a few things. There appear to be more jobs available in this area than in MA where I work now. I have some questions:

1: How's the job market, really? Is it hard to find a job, especially in ED or ICU/step down, with 1-2 years m/s experience?

2: What's the pay for someone with 1-2 yrs exp?

3: What's it like working in the hospitals in the area? Any that I should avoid at all costs? Will I take my life into my hands walking to the parking lot at night (not a knock on Hartford, I've never been so I don't know lol. There are some hospitals in Boston I would avoid for that reason). What are nursing ratios like in particular hospitals?

4: Which hospitals, if any, are union?

5: Is there any other place in CT I should consider other than the Hartford area?
