What's the lowest teas score anyone's gotten accepted into Miami Dade Medical Campus?

Published

I just took my teas exam and scored a 78% on my science portion... Overall I got a 71% I have a GPA of 3.47 I've got nothing but all A's & B's in my science courses ... I'm curious about any former or current nursing student who attended or are attending the program if any have scored about the same percentage I did? So nervous about my score whether or not it's worthy of the program. Thank you.

I am not a fan of standardized tests. I do not think they tell anything. I ended up with a 3.4 GPA at the end of my college career (after my nursing classes that I rocked). Before nursing, I had like a 3.2 to 3.3 GPA; 2.7 GPA in my science and math courses; and I ended up making in the 80s for my TEAS test. I did wonderful in my nursing classes and passed the NCLEX first try with 75 questions.

I realize that I did not answer your question; I do not know the answer. But, I do not think standardized tests have any correlation with how well someone will do in the course work or in a given field.

Good luck to you though!

I was able to get in with the same teas score ( because I failed to complete the English component in time) but my GPA was 3.98. It all depends on the program that you're applying for I.e. bridge, generic, accelerated, full time or part time , online face to face etc.... I applied for the bridge full and part time and was accepted to both. I ultimately chose the bridge online, I graduated last December w/ highest honors and past the NCLEX on my 1st attempt w/ 75 questions.... Basically it depends on the program that you select because some of the programs are not as competitive as others... The accelerated or full time generic are EXTREMELY competitive, whereas my cohort had people who had GPAs as low as 3.2 some even scored in the mid to high 60s on the teas. Your scores are not terrible, you could definitely get in to a couple of the programs, but it may not be enough for the generic and accelerated. Sometimes, after choosing candidates some students change their minds or decide to go elsewhere. When this happens MDC will go back and pick students the strongest out of the remaining student pool.
